Dan,
Can you comment on the stormworthiness of the tent vs say a mid? I understand it has more interior space than a mid but I'm wondering how well it can take those huge 50-60mph gusts

sadfaceeI'd say it's at least as good as normal single pole mid like the MLD DuoMid. With more headroom it does have more side area exposed to the wind, but it also has smaller panels and peak guylines. Single pole mids don't normally have peak guylines, but when you deploy these on the X-Mid is gets really strong. 50-60 mph is some serious winds but I think the X-Mid would do about as well as you could reasonably expect. If you're expecting those kind of winds on a regular basis you want something like a MLD TrailStar.

dandurstonhaha yeah I own a Duomid. mentioned it in the reddit thread for this. yeah 50-60mph is pretty mad but I guess Ive seen vids of mids holding up in these conditions, and up in Scandinavia/ past the arctic circle I guess the weather can be extreme.
Anyway cool. Am considering this as a sidegrade. But i really dont know if I need another shelter that serves a similar function, even if its superior in some ways.
