Appreciation for your always patient responses and modeling collegial dialogue in this community. Your innovation and expertise have won me over from my tarp and mosquito net. I prefer to sleep out and use net or tarp when conditions demand it - glad that your design accommodates screen only use. I don't mind the wait, just don't be late and my biggest worry next Spring will be balancing Sierra freeheel time with backcountry wandering... oh! Now what to do with all that tarp cordage?

I'm quite confident that it won't be late because the wait is almost entirely due to the factory and they've been building tents for over 60 years for nearly all the big, well respected companies you can think of. So they're used to deadlines. It sounds like there's a chance it'll be a bit early but I can't promise that.
I think you'll be pleased with the simplicity of the X-Mid. I got it set up under 20 seconds last night. I use a tarp sometimes because it's a great feeling sleeping under a tarp, but I'm really glad to have something like the X-Mid when some winds roll in.
