Double-wall, separate fly/net, and fast pitch seems perfect for WA/OR weather sections, would love to see how it holds up on a long hike. With this tent, 3 out of my big 4 would be Massdrop products (Klymit pad, GG Crown2 pack, X-Mid shelter).
The estimated ship date is May 20 but that is on the conservative side. It's more likely to ship out in April. Production is already under way.
I think you'll find it's perfect for WA/OR weather. I'm from BC, Canada, so I'm used to wetter mountain weather and the X-Mid is certainly designed for that with the reasons you mention, plus no sag fabric, large and easy to close vents, fly doors that can be left open in light rain etc.
