There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). I would also like to know who to contact. Might be the last time I purchase a MD collab.
I took pictures but don't have access to post them now. Will try later but I'd say the best areas of mine barely have two inches of loft and most areas seem 1.5 inches or less. It looks no better than my Sierra Designs Backcountry Quilt 700. That's listed as a 30 degree product with an EN survival rating of 27 and EN comfort limit of 37. Even though I sleep warm I wasn't confident taking the Sierra to 40 degrees and hence my decision to purchase the Massdrop x EE 20 degree quilt. When I get home I will try weighing the quilt as others have mentioned.
I wonder if somehow they screwed up in China and filled the bags with a lower fill number? That could account for the more or less correct weight, yet half empty baffles. I don't believe there is enough down in the outer most baffle to fill the rest of the quilt properly.
