Tgriz22We're you able to send it back? I want to send mine back too as I didn't realize it was not an EE and it was made in China.

POTUSGuys, it was clearly stated on the drop that the quilts were sewn in China and stuffed in the US. What's the issue? Have you even tried using it? I have zero complaints about mine and I used it a few nights that dropped to the high 20's and low 30's. Is it just the fact that it was partially made in China that has you wanting to return it? I mean, okay, the quality isn't the exact same as one directly from EE, but that's why you didn't pay full price. You know they went thru QC in China, at EE, and at Massdrop, right? Unless there is an actual flaw in your quilt, I really don't understand why you'd want to return it. You got what you paid for. I'm really trying to understand your point of view here and not start an argument. I'm new to quilts and don't have the same level of experience as others, but so far I'm very happy with my purchase.

planb10113I did not see anything about it being seen in China, I even looked again, maybe im just missing it. But I have many down blankets, a 0’ EE quilt and a 40’ kelty sleeping bag.. at first glance this thing does not even remotely look like something that would be considered 20’. I did fill my pad and lay under this for a half hour in my 70’ house without getting hot. I have put it up and compared it to my 40’ kelty bag in the light and it looks to have the same if not less loft than my kelty. I’m not a complainer but this isn’t a $25 or even a$100 product I paid $254 for a wide ER quilt. which btw I did not get it’s only 54” wide not 58”.. and I am leaving for the JMT in 16 days, I do not feel comfortable that this will keep me warm out there.. so this is why I am voicing my opinion.

POTUSI received a response that said due to the content of my request they need to forward it to another department.. but due to the terms I don’t believe they would give me a refund due to me being unhappy with it, BUT I did receive the wrong product. I ordered a wide at 58” and I received a regular at 54”. So I’m hoping to get a refund so I can purchase a real EE quil, although now I won’t get it in time for my trip!

planb10113planb10113. Not sure where you got that info from. It's my understanding this massdrop quilt is both made and stuffed in China, Everyone can decide if that is a neg or not, not knocking it, it's part of the cost savings. This Massdrop quilt is made with different fabric, filled with 800 duck down vs 850 goose down and made in China. The 3 changes they made contribute to the cost savings of this quilt. Each person will have to decide if the cost savings are worth it.

planb10113This Massdrop collaboration quilt is made in China. That is what is clearly stated. "On The Shelf" items sold at Enlightened Equipment are sewn in China and stuffed in Minnesota.

Tgriz22You are missing it. It says Made in China under the specs. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's pretty hard to miss that if you read the product description/specs...

You feel duped because you didn't take the time to read the very short product specs of a product you were buying. You have only yourself to blame. I know that stings. I am most upset when I am at fault -- it's only human, so don't feel bad.
They did not hide the fact that this is made in China. They do not list what type of 800 fill down it is, but Enlightened Equipment themselves use duck down on their 850 fill (950 fill is gray goose), so it should be assumed duck would be used. https://support.enlightenedequipment.com/hc/en-us/articles/226227588-Fabrics-Insulation-Design
You still get EE's Limited Lifetime Warranty, you just go through Massdrop to access it.
I have to call out your comment regarding EE, " I think they're sell outs. "
Have you asked them why they're doing this collaboration? Maybe it's because EE quilts are one of the most requested items on Ultralight. Maybe it's because they want you to be able to get a quilt without waiting 8-12 weeks?
Yes it's great to be 100% American manufactured... until you can't meet demand because you can't find enough employees.
Have you been to Winona, MN? Because I have, and it's a lovely town, but it is small. It is too far from Minneapolis-St. Paul for people to commute. So people would need to uproot their life to move there for an industry they've perhaps never worked in before. What if they don't like sewing quilts? Then what? Moving is expensive.
People tend to think the worst about a company when changes are made or some part of manufacturing occurs overseas. That's not always the case, and certainly isn't here.
Go to Minnesota, visit E.E. and tell me if you still think they're sellouts. Or better yet go work for them so they can make more quilts :)

FlashmanMade in china, cost me an extra $103 in duties when imported to Canada, versus USA made (or finished) goods. It matters.

KristensOuch!!! So you don't pay crazy duties on USA-made goods, just Chinese ones? Or just non-NAFTA? Canadian customs confuse me, but I'd like to learn! :-)
