$220 for a quilt made in China? No thank you. I can get a piece of handmade/American made gear from other cottage vendors for much less, and it'll basically weigh the same.
gibbypooLoco Libre, Hammock Gear, UGQ, Wilderness Logics. All of these vendors have premium and budget quilts. I got my 20° 80"x52" Saver Series top quilt from Loco Libre for under $200, and I was able to fully customize the quilt's length, fabric and thread colors. The craftsmanship is amazing!
rweb82do any of these manufacturers make a quilt that isn't made for a hammock? I'm having the damnedest time trying to find a quilt for my camp chair or when i'm sleeping under the night sky in 0 degree weather in my truck bed.
kalieaireI would recommend contacting the vendors. They are usually very responsive, and most of them are happy to accommodate custom requests. Some of them do already offer versions of their top quilts for ground-dwellers. FWIW, 've used my Loco Libre top quilt for sitting in chairs and sleeping on flat surfaces with no issues.
rweb82that's great! it's so frustrating seeing all these manufacturers who make "quilts" but they actually really mean hammock cocoon, shells, or sleeves.
kalieaireThe cottage vendors I listed make true top quilts. They're basically the same design as EE. The only difference is whether or not you want the pad attachment straps. Here's a picture of my Loco Libre top quilt.
kalieaireI purchased a Revelation from EE almost 2 years ago. I use it on my pad in or out of a tent. Its a short length regular width. It covers me fine. It isnt made specifically for a hammock. I use it to stay warm a variety of ways on the trail.
