I joined this because I am curious to see if a Chinese factory can produce something as nice as my small Inkosi. I have no doubt that they can at least come very close, but I am wondering about the final tolerances that CRK expects from their knives. I have several Spyderco and Benchmade knives from various factories that I like very much, but none of them have the precision of my Inkosi. I expect that China can produce something as nice, but am anxious to see if they can do so at such a low price point.
blackshipsI am also very hopeful on this one. Everyone who has anything produced by WE knives has had almost extensively great things to say about them. Let's hope these live up to the hype.
blackshipsHow are you going to expect a 135 knife to compete with a 400 knife? And to say that you're going to lump all chinese manufacturers and all chinese made knives into the same crap category if this one knife doesn't beat a knife made by a company that has won manufactury quality awards for over a decade? Dude, most other companies, American or not, can't touch CRK as far as tolerances go and you're going to make a blanket judgement about quality by comparing this knife and a CRK? You must be crazy or ignorant.
RussBWhere did I say that I was using this to judge all Chinese knives? I have no doubt that WE Knives could produce something as nice as CRK does and probably at a lower price point. I am curious to see if this is that knife. I wouldn't have even made the comparison if someone else in this discussion hadn't claimed that something else that WEK produced was better than their Inkosi. Rather than call that person crazy or ignorant, I decided to see for myself what WEK can do.
blackshipsYou already know that a 135 knife from WE isn't going to have the same tolerances as a CRK. Anyone who knows anything already knows that and anyone who says that WE is producing something with the tolerances of a CRK is smoking crack. That's not in any way saying WE is making junk, just saying that CRK wins awards year after year for a reason. No reason to go into a buy thinking that a fair comparison can be made.
An Ontario Rat is a great piece for the money and will serve a lot of people well and is absolutely worth its cost. Being impressed with its price to quality ratio isn't reason for anyone to say it compares to a CRK though. Same goes for a knife like this collab.

You know it isn't going to happen at this price point. Why not just get the knife if you like it and enjoy it?
RussBIf it is less than 4 times the tolerances - it is BETTER than CRK! And I am pretty damn sure that it will be within 2 times, so yeah... it is much better than CRK!
surr3a1Diminishing returns. It's a real thing. I bit the bullet and ordered one myself. For $125 it's kind of a no brainer. Now the 5 month wait begins.
blackshipsMy We 616 B cuts better than my small Inkosi, feels better in the hand than the Inkosi, and feels a lot sturdier. You'll probably be pretty happy with this guy.
