Just got my blue/purple and it's thankfully rock-solid. The action is flawless and the detent is right where it should be. The blade is centered. The grind is consistent and she is sharp. There is no blade-play. I can live with the Massdrop logo and the spidey hole makes it look like a baby Megatherium. I will however be trashing the pocket clip (which should have been matched to the color of the handle) and is way too low and would end up exposing the titanium scales to constant scratching on an average workday. Everyone should embrace deep carry clips for knives targeting the EDC market.
The only [minor] grumble I have is when I purchased the knife they said it was from a max batch of 375. I received #381. The landing page shows both: 375 limit and a 400 limit. If you have been buying knives for awhile, you will notice a definite surcharge for small-batches with the following pattern: 250 rare, 500 limited, 1000 (will see them all over ebay). This particular batch size only grew by 25 (so far), but I would like to warn Ferrum Forge that having the best product in the world will still piss off knife collectors if the batch size fluctuates. This particular knife is for my daughter's intro to collecting and I like it. I personally own a good number of knives (40+) by Hinderer, Kizer, ESEE, Boker, Benchmade, VDK, ZT, and a few HOM balis. Having titanium for both scales with this grind on S35VN will run you almost $200 for most non-US brands. $125 is a good deal and I appreciate the attention to detail for the knife I have in-hand. As to Loctite on the pivot screws for those people experiencing blade play, I'd check with the manufacturer first. Most knife manufacturers will void your warranty if they detect Loctite on the pivots since they will have to strip the screw(s) and replace just to inspect the knife.

triplecabbageThe S/N and quantity issue is described simply by Jonas....

"400 were made, 375 are available - this leaves us 25 in case of any warranty issues."

BflyingThanks for the link. I definitely didn't see that when I made the purchase. I blame old eyes.

triplecabbageNot true about the Loctite if you use Loctite Blue. Lots of manufacturers use blue loctite to secure the screws.

svtcobra00There are two types of manufacturers that tick me off the most. Those that use Red Locktite. And those that void warranty if there has been any user adjustment and/or general maintenance.
The use of a permanent adhesive is a horrible solution used to cover for very poor tolerances and quality control. And unfortunately, many of the companies that employ the use of permanent (red or stronger) locktite, are also those that are most likely to deny warranty because of any evidence of attempted maintenance. And I say "attempted", because RED Locktite usually leaves a wake of carnage in its path. Fortunately I haven't seen either so far with WE, or Massdrop. But some pretty big names have been known to play these games.

BflyingI think Spyderco uses Red but I could be wrong. It isnt right for any knife manufacture to use red. If I want to void my warranty by opening the knife, that’s my choice. Don’t make it impossible to open it though.

svtcobra00and lots of manufacturers don't allow the presence of loctite at all. My point was you should check with the manufacturer first before using it just to be safe. Hinderer for example is very explicit in that if they notice any loctite at all during servicing of your knife, they will void the warranty and mail the knife back to you.
