What a disappointment with this knife. I like the design but the way this thing handles is awful. The lock is hard to disengage and after a day of carrying it, the blade wobbles a lot. When I got it the blade was dead center. Now you can look at the picture and see what happened. Like I said, one day of use. I got it the same time I got my Kizer mini Dorado, and it's night and day in comparison. The Mini Dorado lock is so smooth to operate. You can really feel it's a better quality knife than the falcon. And to top it off, it was a dollar cheaper. I really want to like this knife. If it didn't have those issues it would be a great knife. I read someone say that after flicking it open many times, the screws have to be tighten again. For the price I expect more than that. Haven't had to retighten any screws in 4 years on my SOG 40 dollar knife. And I use it every day.

Sep7imoOther people in the thread were saying that they needed to use blue loctite on the screws because they worked themselves loose. Not sure why it didn't come that way, it's a pretty standard procedure. Maybe massdrop should have been throwing in a torx bit and loctite set instead of a knife pouch.

Sep7imoLooks like it just needs to be snugged up a bit. This is one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" manufacturing scenario's. People that just need a knife to use, don't want to think about basic maintenance. But "knife" people would like to be able to fine tune the action to themselves. Of course this is just my opinion. YMMV.
I know that Whia tools are the ones most mentioned as being the best. But sometimes it's handy to just have a bunch to scatter around. With these "chepper" tools, I can buy a half dozen and have everywhere I may need one.
You need a T8 Torx to snug up the pivot.

BflyingThanks man. I am new to knives in this price point, so I thought that more care and precision would be expected. Specially if I don't want them for looks only, but to really use them. Having to carry a screw driver set just because after a few flicks the blade starts to wobble, isn't worth what I paid for in my opinion. But I do appreciate your comment and the link to the screw driver set. I will buy on for sure.

Sep7imoForgot to mention, if you don't like to tinker, pick up some "blue" Locktite also. Then set it where you like it, and shouldn't have to touch it again.

Sep7imoHonestly the lack of locktite is appreciated on my end. but undoubtedly that's what messed up your knife. I always take apart inspect clean and tune any knife I buy over $100 and i put locktite on myself.

BrysqI understand. I guess I'm comparing it to the Kizer mini Dorado too much. The Dorado blade isn't loose after heavy use. And I do think having the option to disassemble knife to clean is nice. But why screws loosen too quick is what I don't like. I'll see how the other knives I buy compare in that area. Thanks.

BflyingJust a note on that particular husky Torx set - I've gone through about 6 of them. HD has been good about taking them back, but the bits are useless after working on one, maybe two knives. I keep one around because like you say it's handy to have and for some things I don't like to use my wiha set. But My Wiha set has gone through some serious battering and there's not a mark on them. If I need a new tool now I look for a Wiha option first.

DakineYou are right. I've destroyed a bunch of them myself. They are not good for breaking locktite without employing others strategies at the same time (heat, etc). But for those that just need something handy to snug up a pivot or handle, it can be a cheap and quick solution. A good chunk of the population is within minutes of a big box.

CaponeI was one of those people that mentioned adding the loctite. Funny thing is I took out the pivot and sure enough it already had blue loctite from factory! I added more and snugged up the pivot super tight. Since it's ball bearing, it seems like a tight pivot doesn't effect the flip. After adding more tho I haven't had an issue for the past week. I've kept an eye on it and have carried it everyday. So far so good.

BflyingI haven't used the husky torx set, but gave up on husky in general years ago. I grabbed the kershaw tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B7MPG6W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_xGDGAbZ07JV1Y
Handle isn't as ergonomic, but it's small, has a clip, includes 3 torx (6, 8, and 10), Phillips and flat screwdrivers, and i haven't stripped any tips yet breaking loose blue locktite.
And only cost $8 on amazon

KavikThat's funny, I have four of those K tools also. I've destroyed a number of those bits also. But they can be somewhat restored by sanding/grinding down the end until you get past the damaged teeth. The cool thing about that tool, is that the Falcon/Crux uses T6 and t8's that it happens to have. Unfortunately the Gent also needs a Philips, but the bit size in the K tool does not fit. Can't remember off hand what bit fit best for it.

BflyingAnd the Phillips is waaaaay too small for the Kizer GPB1 pivot hahaha
