I would buy one but just can not get past the clip.

blujaydadI thought the same thing before I bought one, than another on the second release. Yeah, it looks a little strange for a knife clip, and yeah it is not consistent with the styling. However, for practical considerations it is actually quite nice. A principal function of a deep carry clip is concealment. You are trying to put the knife deeper in the pocket, and show less that you are packing. Most deep carry clips "hide" the knife, but the clip itself is so obviously screaming, "hey I have a knife, here right in your face". This clip is not that at all. At first glance, and even looking with purpose, says "I have a pen in my pocket".
And the clip is deceptively durable too. I've been carrying my Gent every day in my coin pocket, since the first production run, and there is no loss in spring, and no bending or loosening. For practical purposes, it is pretty darn good. Could it have been better? Sure...I would have preferred titanium, but it's a very minor gripe ...very minor.
By far, my greater gripe is the use of a Phillips screw for the pivot. That is even below the standards of most gas station knives.
