Will this knife ship to Canada? I’ve never seen a push button release being able to be shipped here, and I’m assuming it’s not assisted/automatic right?
Marblecf1Most knives technically won't ship to Canada and since this can be categorized as a centrifugal knife (like a butterfly knife), it won't be any different. Now whether or not they'll catch it, is another story. Massdrop offers a refund for anyone who's knife gets seized so you're pretty safe ordering from here. Having said that, I've never gotten anything seized as of yet from Massdrop despite flippers and "spidey-hole" knives being banned.
BknguyenWow I did not know they refund siezed knives! But I recently ordered a kershaw dividend from massdrop and it got through, but I don’t know. Also I’ve never had anything seized so I’ve been pretty lucky
Marblecf1Massdrop isn't a knife retailer so it isn't readily apparent that your package would have a knife. Order from say....BladeHQ and you'd probably get checked. Not to mention they don't offer refunds for seized knives. Actually, Massdrop is the only US retailer I'm aware of offering a refund.
Marblecf1I agree it's a dame good policy!!! I was just talking with someone from Knife Center last week about how Massdrop is getting a ton of there knife sales do to them not offering us Canadians something similar. Of course all I got was the usual P.F.O. reply I've gotten a hundred times before. 😝 Just more reasons to keep giving all my money to Massdrop. Lol😂
Marblecf1I've gotten a kwaiken seized! Shame too, such a basic non threatening knife.
Actually speaking of, it's worth it to say that if you're a Nexus Trusted Traveller card holder, you can get that status revoked if you get too many packages seized by the border. I've only had one which resulted in a warning but it's worth it to mention. That card is a pain to get and the application takes a while.
BknguyenThat sucks so much, I’ve been looking at the kwaikens for so long but I guess I’m going to have to actually go down and bring it back if I want one. I’ve been lucky so far, but I don’t have a nexus card to worry about.
Marblecf1It's all such a bunch of BS. Just on its face the whole this stinks but when you add in that the very same knives are perfectly legal and for sale all across the country (At an insanely high Mark up)its all just so maddening😠Does anybody know if anything ever came of the Canadian politician that was trying to fight against this? I never heard anything more after the beginning of 2018.
BknguyenYeah I never heard anything ether. Mind you that doesn't mean much I never really looked very hard ether lol. I was just hoping someone might of heard something on the subject.
