Is your stuff no longer on MD? Cuz I gotta say, your comments on this drop aren't a good look

When you're acting like a prick over a utility blade holder, trawling the comments on a competitors MD page, and then dissing the production quality of a well-known and respected knife production company and the Ferrum Forge bros (who are extremely nice both as people and business owners), I see little reason to support you, your brand, or your product. Get ready to become obsolete soon buddy.

Unless you own all retractable utility knives, then I think this is a fine look for Massdrop. But your behaviour here as a professional is most definitely a bad look. And dodging comments about it doesn't help.

I think the point is that you are tarnishing your own name by complaining here, on your competitor's drop. You are being slanderous, and it doesn't help anyone. It hurts you and your business, as well as Ferrum here.
Maybe instead of trolling a competitor's message board you could spend some time on the drawing board, developing new and different products that might reach a different audience?

XenoMuseI take Tactical_Keychains side on this. This is a complete ripoff of his work. Sure it's more ergonomic blah blah. Ferrum Forge bros are nice blah blah. How are they a "forge" when they are not even manufacturing it themselves. Tactical_Keychains makes his own stuff from my understanding and is fully done in the US. Also before someone jumps on me, I am not saying Chinese made stuff is inferior. In fact, I would argue manufacturing knowledge has advanced to the point in China that QC is up there with any western country. My point is that since it is made in China, the px point doesnt make any goddamn sense if the px is the same for the two. It just means they over charging and ripping off someone elses idea while saying the "blade" is made in the USA. Why even mention that? It would make sense if the blades were chinese but the housing was made in the US to even bother mentioning anything about US made.

HitMan009I'm not disagreeing on the ripoff. I saw the first few comments pointing this out and besides, the TUK definitely looks better on paper. Cheaper and US made! But a little professionalism goes a long way. Tactical Keychains already had folks on this this drop pointing out the similarities and stating their allegiances. That's some solid customer loyalty. No need to chime in. No need to undermine a competitor. By doing that, they've undermined themselves IMO

And that's fair. You're a small business trying to make it and provide for the fam. I get it. I've given my 2 cents, thanks for yours!

Are you the target though?
It seems massdrop is doing what they do, trying to sell a product. It just happens that you used to sell a similar product on massdrop.
All I'm saying is running around screaming "victim" and "rip-off" doesn't really endear you to anyone.

HitMan009To address some of your points: The 'Forge' in Ferrum Forge comes from early in Elliot Williamson's knife-making career when he actually forged all the materials for his custom knives. Just because the Williamson brothers are now doing collaborations with other companies does not mean that they should change their name. Second, Ferrum Forge is a family owned business run by the two brothers. They designed the product, so buying it supports them. I don't see how that's a bad thing, even if other corporations profit as well.

Hooo boy. I thought I understood your motivations for your actions but if you really think this all revolves around you, then I guess I'm back to square one.

IonicPulseThere are too many problems for me to state in one post. However here are a few quick things:
If you look at the pictures, the first thing you notice is USA stamped on the blade. Before at least one of the pics had Made in China added on which apparently is now gone. But come on, $40 for chinese made product. There is nothing that says it is made in China till you read the desc now. Back to the blades..... the blades are give or take $18.00 for 100. That's 18 cents(4 thousandths the px of the case) And that is the px we pay. Goodness knows how much they get them for. it's a simple slip but I think not. Its great that they are two brothers who run a family business and designs products. I am also not really supporting them per se because they are not making the products. I posted previously that this reminds me of Juicero and I also mentioned the QC in China is just as good as any western country. There is no need to CNC this since it is made in China. As for Tactical_Keychains, he is guy machining the stuff himself with his own two hands. It would be cost-prohibitive for him to have a die casting machine with dies made to churn these his out. These are made in China by a factory so it's just silly to CNC this and then charge this insane amount for what? There is no artisanal value to justify the cost.

With love: I have bought your TUKK from here and EDC it, however... As to how original it is: Olfa have been making these little plastic ones for at least 30 years https://olfa.com/craft/product/multipurpose-touch-knife-yellow/. But ok you used magnets instead of a spring and titanium instead of plastic so I prefer yours. Also the EDC community is knife nuts, so why do you think that people wont buy both. (when they are in stock) I mean i have about 10 keychain sized flashlights in different materials and forms... Even when all you say about how this product came to be is true, it does not neccesarily mean that it will hurt your business. Ranting about it increases that risk tho.
