What the hell is this thing. They really didn't make it clear that the blade CANNOT be locked in any amount of forward position. I was led to believe the blade would lock forward and the spring would auto retract it when a locking lug was disengaged. the thumb lug to hold the blade forward is INCREDIBLY uncomfortable and borders on dangerous as any slip of the finger or wet hands sends the blade shooting backwards. The mechanism forces you to hold the blade in a very, very specific way that prevents you from using a variety of grips for a variety of tasks. This thing was made to open boxes and packaging. Absolutely nothing else. no cutting inwards, no hobby usage that does not involve running the blade along a straight edge. This is not a carving knife. you have none of the range of motion due to the blade not locking in anyway (not even a friction folder like the absolutely superb spyderco kiwi) The box did not include the mentioned accessories. no extra button piece, no extra screws, no instructions on how to change the blade. This knife is WORTHLESS. Don't waste your money. Get a goddamn gerber EAB, that is a proper tiny pocket knife that uses disposable utility blades, and is a proper locking folder.

HoneybadgersFerrum Forge is a shit company, would advise anyone considering a purchase to look up their customer service shenanigans where the owner Elliot shit on a customer for bringing up a problem via instagram.

HoneybadgersFor some of us who work in safety forward fields this is the only form of blade we can use. I wish they made this in a full size utility knife.

Geo_ologistI can't see how any workplace would permit this but not a safety blade box cutter. This is outright dangerous. *I'm a paramedic. I have seen a lot of injuries from auto retracting blades.

HoneybadgersDamn, I wish I had read your review! I thought I was going to love this because I love copper, knives, and I hate using a "real" knife to open boxes and letters. But as you pointed out, with the non-locking-open blade, it's useless and dangerous. And it's also pointless to have that nice knurled grip on the bottom when the only way you can really hold the knife is sideways. Are we stuck with these things, or is there a return option???
