Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. ive seen FOCAL ELEAR on sale for $649 numerous times, so why am i paying $799 for a paint job and pad swap?
and, while i appreciate any other tweaks such as damping materials and venting to create a better sound, its still a bit paradoxical -- since when is its massdrops job to 'fix' high-end headphones and rebadge them at a premium-- thats like a weird luxury service no one really wants... what we want are 'mass drops' lol
either way its a sick headphone and i would be deeply considering it at $649 or less. not $799
I too would love a $649 or less pseudo-Clear, but I don't think this $800 price is at all unreasonable given what we're getting here.
I'm not saying these are in fact "an amazing massdrop value" but you shouldn't judge it without hearing it. Massdrop has tweaked things to better fit the community before, nothing to be outraged about yet.
