I might have to drop out of this. My gut is telling me just to grab an Elear so I don't have to wait 4 months.

JTCPingasYeah I ended up grabbing a cheap, used Elear myself and just fixing the tonal balance with EQ. I might still upgrade to a Clear later, but the Elear+EQ gets it mostly there.

JTCPingasIf you have other good headphones to tide you over, especially if you own a balanced amplifier, the accessories offered here will beat out the price:performance of a discounted Elear any day.
That said, my terribly subjective opinion would be to just get the new LCD2 Classics instead if you're gonna drop out - mine finally arrived today and in my personal (and again, subjective) opinion they do what the Elear wishes it had; and this is coming from someone that does like and has owned the Elear for about a year now. They're easier to find than a sub $600 deal for the Focal, they weigh about the same now and are about as comfortable since Audeze fixed that issue... They don't look as good but they're a steal.
If not then you're probably better off just saving up for the Clear, though you seem to be in a relative hurry to upgrade so maybe that's not the best advice.

VigrithRight now it's just the HD 800 as my daily driver. My DT 880 and HD 6XX barely get any use so I might sell them. I finally ordered an Elear this morning. I probably could have gotten the Clear, but I wanted something of a polar opposite to the Senny.

VigrithWould love to hear more about the Lcd2 Classic. I listen to mostly jazz and just need more information before i make this purchase. I also have the Elears and may buy the Clears if Focal has another sale like they did for the Utopia and Elear

VigrithVigrith, I seem to recall you might own M1060s... How do the LCD2 Classics compare to the M1060s?
I personally thought that the M1060s give the LCD2s (regular) a run for their money. To the tune of not wanting to spend the extra 300 for it. That being said, I made the mistake of demoing the LCD-4s then the Xs, the 3s then the 2s... so the 2s just didn't feel good after that... Probably would have been better if I worked my way up.

MusicLoverKinda in the same boat... if they put the clears on sale anywhere near 1200... I would be really tempted over the Elex...
That being said, I don't have the Elears... I figure that's a much harder decision.
(also, I've kind of grown tired of pure black cans... I'd rather go with the Clear's design scheme anyways)

djfluffkinsI don't own anything by Monoprice, I have heard the M1060 though and I'm not a big fan. It's a decent pair of headphones at $300 but I'd easily go for the HFM 400S over them, the current revision of the fazor'd LCD-2s are really not great either so I have no issue seeing some (or many) prefer the M1060s to them.
In my personal opinion, having heard the entire LCD lineup bar the LCD XC, the new 2C are about as close as you're gonna get to the 4s. It's not even close with the current production 2s, they quite handily (imo) beat the X and I also personally prefer them to the 3s. Of course YMMV and I've always been a huge fan of the OG LCD-2s so it's no wonder I love the 2C but others I trust very much (people on SBAF, mainly) concur so maybe I'm not crazy.

MusicLoverI think they're fantastic for Jazz and you'll see why very soon. To quickly summarise them, the 2C's strength is their bass, no question there at all, they have a mellow and extremely pleasing midrange and their highs are a little subdued whilst still very present and balanced. All around super smooth.
In addition to that, they're quite intimate and romantic sounding (some people even refer to them as claustrophobic), as is the entire LCD line, and because they are darker than neutral and have a certain charm to them that other headphones really can't quite replicate (the closest I've heard is the AQ Nighthawks which I also own and love).
Since you seem versed in Jazz I'll expand a little - my favourite artist of all time is Tom Waits. The 2C are the best headphones I've owned with Waits. Other personal favourites within the (semi) modern genres are Frank Zappa, Lera Lynn, Diana Krall, Leonard Cohen, Holly Cole, John Pizzarelli, Lake Street Dive, Sarah Blasko, etc. As you can see I heavily favour folk and blues tilts rather than hardcore, pure Jazz roots. The LCD2C are stellar at providing that hazy smoke filled 1970s-1980s bar sound, and for that they are unbeatable. Everyone speaks of how good their bass quality and quantity is for EDM and other electronic genres but to me THIS is their forte and what I give them the highest praise for. I truly do think you'll love them too.
PS: the Focal Clear are probably the best all-around (dynamic) headphones out there but I have only auditioned them very briefly so I cannot expand on that. I believe the 2C beat out the Elear in every way but that's very subjective.

Vigrithlcd2 classics *are* nice. but have very noticeable coloration. and i don't think they're as comfortable to a guy like me with a huge head and jug ears. BUT, the lcd2 classics are (excepting the Focal) better than the rest of the field in this price range. once you master a recording in a studio setting there is nothing equivalent to the Focal, as nothing and no-one else guarantees and specifies +/- 0.5dB beyond the human hearing range.
