Hi folks, Mike here.
Just want to drop in and say that i had the 3 prototypes here for few days now and im super happy with how they turned out. They are impressive knives if i can say so myself...
Everything from the fit and finish, action, grind, construction... Really well executed.
Im very excited that people can finally get much more affordable than my custom pieces or even midtech runs I had in the past, but still very high quality knife designed by me.
I hope You all are too and I hope You'll enjoy them as much as im enjoying these 3 i have here...

GavkoKnivesThank you for feeling that way about your craft, its amazing and exciting that designers can do their own design, made beautifully (based on all my last MD collabs), and have it in that sweet spot between the KAI company's collab's. Right where anyone can get and experience your knives, at near full functionality.

GavkoKnivesFrom what I have experienced with WE knives, the action will be very good, I am not sure but think that with this bigger blade it might start to drop when closing, I see though there is some evidence of a "finger guard", am I right that while closing this knife this tab will drop on the finger, and then we will be able to simply shake this knife closed? Would be awesome!

GavkoKnivesHey Mike this a great looking knife and perfect size too. I have always liked the Thresher and this is a super addition to all the cool stuff that Massdrop has been doing lately. I picked up one of the Big Eye in sand. Figured it would go well with my Old School Mako custom. :) Crazy to think we have Old School knives out there. Yikes! Anyhow, as you know I appreciate your designs and am really happy to see this collaboration in a good quality WE Knife. Talk soon Bud!

GavkoKniveshi gavko a big fan of your work, I have watched your videos way before you were making knives. excellent job, I have a quick question would that bowie flipper come in M390 or any other steels? also would like to see how the centering of the flipper if possible and if you disassemble it? will it be still centered?

sabirI might be able to snwer on some of your questions. :)
WE knives have very good tolerances and all knives I had from them, had great fit and finish, I had no issue at all disassembling and reassembling their knives.
I am not sure what exactly you mean by "Flipper" since it is thumbstuds only knife, so you might wanna check that out...
And about the steel.... I myself am a steel junkie and would personaly like to see more steels in Massdrop's knives, but as far as I know, at the moment all knives produced with WE are s35vn (which is a GREAT steel) and I get why: It reduces expenses to the final product, thus you can enjoy such low prices on those knife models.

I also watched all the videos you used to make with TuffThumbz, Vance, and Sebastian. Loved watching the evolution of your style over the years. ArchAngel857Lol sorry about that. I'm still trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on this drop or pay an extra $50 and buy the new farrum forge Proline that just dropped. To be honest I'd prefer the Gavko but it's the 5 month wait that's killing me😲😨😩

T.willyI hear ya there for sure. So....I'd go for this one for sure and prolly the other one too. Lmao. Now I gotta look at the other one. I love this blade and will be worth the wait but just wish they'd gone the extra inch with blade options to include choice of satin or stonewashed, but either way it'll be one of my favs for sure.

T.willyWell I have to say this is a first for me. I actually get to respond to my own question lol. I got to ask Mike if he would be making any smaller models with Massdrop in the future in a post after his YouTube video about this knife Tuesday. He told me if all goes well yes he would like to do other models with Massdrop and he also said he's thinking of somthing with a blade size of around 3.25"
The first one isn't even built yet and I'm already pumped for the second. 😆

shellxcatI'm pretty sure this is one of the Massdrop Made Models that they have in stock and ready to ship out the next day. Once the time runs out on the drop it just starts right back up the next day. However this is only a guess you can reach out to the customer service to make sure 100%.
