Do I Need to Lube My Keyboard Switches?
Figure 1: Sometime around here is a good time to ask that question... If you’re new to the mechanical keyboard hobby, I have no doubt that planning your first keyboard build is a bit of a daunting task. 1. They were released very early compared to all of the sets we see pulling gigantic numbers now, our community was infinitesimally smaller and as such there is a lack of circulating supply, obviously.
2. As the community grows so does the number of hardcore fanatics of certain themes and universes (Diablo, JRR Tolkien's stories, The Joker and Batman fans in general, etc.), meaning the sets that offer that will be very coveted and extremely expensive (again, due to the circulating supply being small).
This set is very specifically themed too but it's not a part of any larger universe or franchising - the circulating supply being small won't inflate the price much if at all going forward because the appeal is very limited compared to those other sets mentioned. On the other hand, 9009 was a unicorn set too (still is, maybe not so much now due to R2 having just happened recently) and the theme it followed is ultra specific too but that's a different situation because the colourscheme is as classic as it gets. This set suffers because it appeals to neither of those groups, and that'll obviously affect pricing going forward.
