NiMoYou would be better off with a JDS Labs OL Dac...at least then you have access to an optical input, better specs and better dac chip. Also better power supply. Unless running USB power is something you really need.

JimmybucketsIt's not all about the chip. The surrounding circuitry can do great things with a pedestrian chip or ruin a great chip. There is a lot more than a DAC chip in these boxes.

Edwin_HAgreed. Could do a sdac, also now. I think my OLdac sound great for the $$$ though. And lots of flexibility with multiple inputs. Dedicated power supply also instead of USB bus.

NiMoI read somewhere that Massdrop can't do ODACs anymore because of rising prices of parts and other factors. So they approached Grace Audio to come up with a similarly priced replacement in the same form factor. The SDAC could very well be better then the ODAC but you likely don't need it if you already have the ODAC. If I have neither I would go for the SDAC because of my preference for an AKM chipset over an ESS chip.
