Hi everyone,
We’re checking in to let you know the Massdrop x Hasbro XDA Scrabble Custom Keycap Set is making its way through production!
Cassidy has confirmed the plastic colors for the different keycaps and we're now working on finalizing the production legends. Check out the photo below for a preview of the project in progress.
We’re on track to meet our estimated ship date of August 31, and we’ll update everyone in mid August with the status of the shipment.

YanboWuThese look like standard old white key caps, not really even close to the same color as the photos listed during the drop. That does not resemble wooden Scrabble pieces very well at all to me.
Is that really the color they are going to be?

RockytopwizI think the legend samples and the color samples are two separate things. Aka, yes, the legend samples are white, and the colors above are the colors to expect.

jhoff80I'm good with the other colors, not the legend colors. Those white legend colors do not resemble Scrabble pieces very well at all.
Compare them to the pics from the drop, not even close.

YanboWuThe fonts was significantly larger on the drop's original images. The letters in the original images looked like the font height was about 1/2 of the key top. In these pictures, it looks like it's down to about 1/3, which makes it look far less Scrabble-ish.
Also the point values were closer to the corner of the keycap in the original images.
Is it possible to get it closer to the original images before hitting production?

RockytopwizYou are right! The legend samples are separate from the colors. I haven’t actually gone through these new legend samples yet, only colors.

YanboWuthe legends are really really bad. the font is too small, and the little numbers are at the bottom right corner of the char, not at the bottom right corner of the cap like they have to be. this is just standard with an additional little number. it is not a scrabble design. it looks like a chinese ripoff of scrabble ;)

jhoff80That's exactly what I assumed too; why waste coloured plastic on legend test keycaps rather than plain white.
So, one set of keycap samples to check colours, and another set of samples to check legends (on white, because probably cheaper).

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
