Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I am seriously after a good pair of planar magnet HE's so are these the ones to go for or sit it out until the HE400 arrives?!
Lastly....
Based in the UK and need to redo my desktop setup so new headphone amp, DAC etc etc. An example would be Schiit Magni2/Modi2 combo. Can anyone recommend a company?
Thank you!
Re: Desktop DAC/Amp combo. I have the Schiit Magni 2 Uber/Modi 2 Uber combo and I have to say I'm delighted with it.
I regard myself as a junior audiophile. I like to keep the budget within reasonable limits, so the combined £300 cost was about all I was prepared to pay, but I think it's worth it. I'm powering a pair of AKG K712 Pro headphones and I'm delighted with every aspect. They look really goo too.
EDIT: I got the Schiit combo from the EU distributor so no customs charges. PM if you want details.
Thank you :)
I've also got a Fulla 2 which I use at work, and that's a hell of a lot of dac/amp for the money - worth thinking about if budget is a consideration.
Unlike the super-fatiguing, treble-heavy sound of the HE-350, the HE- 400i has lush mids and an overall balanced presentation. In addition, the 400i has plush earpads - whereas the 350's pads are stiff and uncomfortable because their ear openings are too small for human ears.
My advice is to pass on the HE-350's, as there are better headphones available in this price range.
Cheers :)
