Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. Those asking for better headphones at $100...closed M40x and HD598SE/CS both drop below that price often. Another consideration, Soundmagic HP150.
Another way to know is if you hear a big difference in resolution between He350 and HD650. If the difference is small, then clearly the Schiit stack is holding back the HD650 in detail retrieval.
If you want an upgrade in sound, i recommend upgrading the headphone to something like a Beyer Amiron or Audioquest Nightowls. They have a bit more resolution than HD650 and much better soundstage and bass. If you really love the HD650 and want just more resolution, then upgrade your source to something like a Chord Mojo.
