I just got these. These are the worst headphones I've ever held, worn, and listened to. I'm not joking, my AKG k99's are better than these and I mean way better. Immediately I put these on and the first song I listened to I thought these cans were actually blown right out of the box the sound was so harsh and the treble was so high. These are simply empty sounding with no bass. I'm not asking for a lot of bass, but I at least want to feel its presence. The cups feel like horrible cheap plastic and are stiff/difficult to swivel to the point where it feels like its going to break. The pads are rock solid, it feels like they are supposed to hurt but for some reason they don't, I certainly would not say they are comfortable. Songs like Redbone, Something About Us - Daft Punk, and Digital Love actually made me sad to listen to music. It just doesn't sound good any way you slice it. So I tried amping them and it made no difference. These were designed to sound like this for some reason and it was a huge mistake. Dont get these, there are many other open back choices for $99 that sound so much better.

mbouch22Let them sit and play for a good while first, it will bring down the sharp treble. Not saying you are wrong, I just have seen a lot of people talking about having the same issue, but having a better experience once they let them sit and play for a day. As for the bass, people have found a mod where you remove a sicker inside the unit giving more bass response, if you have already spent the money you should try to make them suitable for you, I'm sorry the experience has been bad for you.

mbouch22Different pads may improve the experience for you, depending on what you want out of these cans. Out of the box, I found the treble to be too harsh, the bass lacking, and the rock hard pads irritably uncomfortable. I put Dekoni memory foam pads (meant for the Beyer DT series, but fits the HE-350 perfectly) on mine and never looked back. The highs came down to a nice level without having any sparkle muffled, the bass got a huge boost, and the comfort went through the roof. YMMV, of course, but this is my experience with these cans for what it's worth. I think the HE-350s were just shipped with a poor choice of pads.

eksuenI completely agree with you. I too think the only thing the 350s are lacking is in the pads. Could you give the specific type of Dekoni memory foam pads? Are they on amazon?
