Which headphones of Drop's currently available?
I have some rewards points to burn but there's no obviously good options on Drop right now for headphones Contenders Ultrasone - maybe? I don't own any Ultrasones, so curious. Looks like garbage travel headphone which could be useful also. Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. - Maybe? I have the DT 880 Good price point, really uncomfortable headphones but could be interesting to try the upgraded version. E-MU - strong contender but $400 is a bad price point for what it is. Which of the above would you choose and why? Nothing else on Drop is relevant to my interests, because Already own 6xx 820 800 s Ether cx Garbage / Consumer grade Meze 99 - garbage bass canons, hard pass No gaming headphones obviously Sennheiser wireless - no to wireless/bluetooth Hifiman - I have 2 of drop hifimans and they make really bad cheap shit on Drop, hard pass on HE-R7DX Aeon - I own the closed, Drop refuses to address #padgate so no reason to buy open Beyerdynamic 177x - wireless, nope Too similar 8x / 560s...

I may not be a headphone freak that compares all the products ever but I listen to wide variety of genres including Ambient Trance & Metal which require driving yet reasonable Bass. I have no problems with these headphones coming from £50 sony / sennheiser models. Its also important to note that like a new pair of shoes they will "loosen" a little, meaning the highs will soften a bit probably after 12 hours of use!
We all have different ears and I personally enjoy a balanced neutral sound. My personal opinion is that these are not high heavy, just neutral. They do have crisp highs, they also have warm bass and round mids. I will also add, that anyone considering a pair of headphones of this price range should have access to a basic EQ anyway. My Opinion.
I'm using mine with a new FiiO E10K Olympus into a Dekstop PC and I am using the Bass switch ON and OFF about equally with different albums. I have yet to feel that I need to EQ.
The headphones do weaken in the highs a little over time, and i still feel they are good neutral headphones.
I would suggest downloading MusicBee as an alternative to iTunes for your laptop/desktop music sessions, it features an EQ, however i still haven't needed it, it would be more useful for a badly produced album.
Also would suggest the FiiO E10K if you can get it reduced on amazon like I did. Volume is only a plus as they are loud enough in my PC jack anyway. In the FiiO i only drive it to 2-3/8, its the crystal clear/rounded audio that makes a DAC worth it IMO.
