Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. My personal take on the bass mod is this; keep the hole 1/2 open. Removing the sticker completely adds a lot of muddy bass and hurts the mids.
For treble, I didn't use paper towel. I used a perforated kitchen cabinet liner. It allows the mids to come through crystal clear and softens the treble juuuuust a touch while keeping the wide sound stage.
As for pads; if you're like me and discovered that your head is indeed kinda big when you put these on; you may also discover that the Brainwavz HM5 angled pleather pads increase the bass in a very desirable way; but also add more clamp . Well, good news! The standard HM5 pads are more comfortable and when combined with half of the bass mod and a bigger opening for your ears making these cans way more comfortable.
