I'm not sure if it's my setup or my ears but either I strongly dislike the HE-350 or my unit is defective. They have so much treble energy and a midrange that is so lacking as to sound hollow. I am a former owner of the HE-300, HE-400, HE-400i, HE-400S, HE-560 and HE-6 (and current owner of an HE-500). I compared these to my lower-end open cans (HD558 & K612) and they just sound so much more balanced across the spectrum. Gear is BDP-105, DAC1-USB and a variety of tube and SS amps. For grins I compared them to my $10 KSC35 from a decade ago and the Koss clip-ons prevailed. These have already seen about 50 hours of burn-in so I may just dislike the sound signature (I tend to favor neutral/warm presentations). For folks who love details or have very dark-sounding gear this may be the ticket - they are very easy to drive as well (my Android and iPhone drive them easily).

NeilPeartThat's so true, after a while with those cans, I can say one thing, I'm not missing then at all:) I sold them because their sound signature wasn't what I was looking for.
