I wouldn't recommend these. They are not $300 headphones with a $100 price tag. These are HiFiMan's low end headphones and have far too many compromises to make them worth even $100. When everything is in the sweet spot, these sound fantastic, but it's so difficult to get it right that it's not really worth the effort.
These need modding and patience to bring out the best in them. The most basic change I can suggest is to use an equalizer on these to bring down some of the treble and add some bass. Even then, results will vary quite drastically. The soundstage seems wide but I feel like the strong upper-mids help the HE-350s to 'fake' some of the width. Plus, I've noticed that the upper-mids and trebles don't strike me as particularly high-quality after using them with an amp.
If you're not particularly interested in all things audiophile but you can stretch to $200, get the AKG K7XXs, which are probably all the headphone you'll ever really need.
If you're sticking to around $100, try the Lasmex L-85s that appear on Massdrop occasionally or get the AKG M220s with an amp.

6EQUJ5 It'd be hard to tell if and when the HD6XX will be back. Would Sennheiser want to ramp up production in Ireland and keep the $200 price? Something I'm not sure about. If it became a returning special, I'd certainly recommend it. To add to my comment: Looks like the AKG M220s and a good headphone DAC/Amp (SMSL SAP-9) is now up on Massdrop.
