MidnighTempestAargh! This is killing me. I was set, after a lot of thought and research (largely between the m1060 and the 400i) to go with the m1060.
But, these are only $160!! and, the frequency charge looks okay. What to do do?!!!

MidnighTempestI'd love to know this as well. These look very nice for the price but the M560s have removable covers that can convert them to closed backs. Also these look like they clamp on your head, whereas the M560 hangs from the top.

DigitalseaFrom what i've heard the m560 removable covers thing is gimicky and they sound much better open.

WalrusPajamas53I would just grab both, but since this is a limited drop I suggest you grab these. Its definitely worth the money.

MidnighTempestThe monolith m560 hands down, but the clampng sucks, you ever so slightly move and they fall off. But if you get a good pair the sound will blow you away. With some songs the vocals can be a little to forward though.

MidnighTempest1) If these were shipping now or very soon, no question: these.
2) If the Audeze vegan pads were still available (for the most popular m1060 mod), then I'd lean toward the m1060.
Alas...

TonyRizoHey, I recently picked up the M560 which I can't get enough of. But then this deal comes along! :( Anyways, you're the only one to really comment on the two. Is there anything in particular besides build quality that makes you say M560 hands down? I'm mainly concerned about the low end and sound stage. Thanks!

les-starHi, in the short time I had my m560 I found them to outshine my he400i. The m560 were more detailed and better bass. The 400 are very good but the lack midbass turned me off as I have over 15 headphones to compare with. If you received a good working m560 hang on to them they are in my opinion one of the best sounding hp. Since I had the bad luck of receiving two bad m560 with issues with the right cup, I simply gave up on them. Well, I did purchase the new m565 and gave these a try and I absolutely love them, they are right at par with the m560 only a bit more bass on the 565. I read via Zeos YouTube reviews, that the m560 are more on par with the hifiman he560 which by the way are marked down for the holidays. Already having the m560 I would not buy the 400i I doubt you will prefer them over the m560. Try the RBH HP 2 with beryllium driver. At 139.00 direct from their website will blow you away in sound. They are intense, bassy with great vocals and highs. Plus you can tailor the bass down if need via 3 small holes on each cup. I own two of them and love these as well. Hope this help. Are you looking for a more revealing HP than the m560 or a fun but great headphone?

TonyRizoThanks for the input. I have about 80hrs worth of burn in on my M560 and loving them. I'll take your word. Since the M560 I can't get enough of the Planar sound and I know HiFiMan are known for there Planars. However, I'm going to hold off on this drop regardless of how tempting. I have the V-Moda crossfade 2 as my closed set which I love for the build and sound. RBH HP2 is already sold out :( I wouldn't mind another good pair of closed back cans. Any idea of how the RBH HP2 stacks up against the VModas in sound?

les-starI don't have the vmoda, I have heard good thinks on them though. However they are not audiophile sound and the RBH certainly are. In fact the RBH has energetic, dynamic and the quality of the bass and high frequencies are so refined that I enjoy them very much with all genre including classical and jazz. They won't be as revealing as the m560 but man they are intense sounding and sound brilliant and very detailed on tubes. I run them on my Little Dot Mk2 with tubes rolled and can't tell you how great they sound. Your m560 will sound great on tubes too. The only issue I have found is that if you purchase a set, make sure you inspect the driver's because the voice coil paper tends to be sucked in (pushed down) because of cabin pressure while they are in flight. It's an easy fix if they are, simply put your mouth over the driver and suck air into you're lungs and it comes right out with no I'll effect. Otherwise if you miss this detail the treble and vocals will sound subdued. The RBH punch way above their price point. I own two of them. I don't know how much bass the vmoda has but I assure you these won't let you down and the mids or treble will not be tainted because of it's bassy nature. @ 199.00 it is a no brainier. Where I have seen a slight overbearing in the bass is when you listen to music which use Cellos, cello produces very strong subbass and can overpower the song in general but this can be tailored by covering one or two of the small holes on each cup. In closing, the RBH HP 2 possess high quality bass, vocals and treble and all play with authority. Watch Zeos review on them on YouTube.
