Joined the recent drop and received today at the front door, serial number in the low 6 hundreds for some reason I don't know why.
No quality issue here, matt blue cups, cable is thick and soft, plugs are secured, headband have support, except I haven't popped the hood to check the wiring.
Out of the box pretty nice sound straight from the mobile phone (double as my DDAPP Daily Digital Audio Portable Player), although a bit power hungry (dial up to about 80%), but less than T50rp MK3 or K712 (push to 90%, have volumn although not good pairing) but more than HD6xx (60%).
Details are close to DT880 and still have good bass like HD6xx without the veil so-to-speak.
Now pairing with Magni 3, good synergy, high gain at just shy of 3-o'clock. Album is Lion King (Legacy collection) and PTO 1986 recording in VBR mp3.

citizenPaulI think some user reported one side of the plug/ connection is loose, my copy doesn't appeared to have the said issue. When the 2.5mm TRS and socket make contact, there was a definite click/s and even degree of freedom (rotation only, no excessive lateral) on both sides (Lt + Rt) once secured.

RidhoFrom my experience, it is parallel. It is comparing apples to oranges. DT 880 been around 10+ years and HE 4xx I only received <40 hrs.
From my hearing, both have excellent details, and both have the wide 4 track stereo imaging (x/y + a/b). HE 4xx have slightly more exciting top and bottom end.
Except, on a split hair level, HE 4xx sounded more 'planner' and DT 880 got an better acoustic 3D sphere imaging. HE 4xx is like digital vs DT 880 is like analog, like a warmth of 'human touch'.

Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Recommendation for my next headphone set? I have Koss 95x
Hey all, What would you recommend I get next and why? I have Koss ESP-95x electrostatic massdrop headphones. These are my first and only audiophile set. I love them. I think my only real requirements is $500 or less for the headphones and that they have a little more low end. I don’t need thump but these are really light on lows…but the experience is still awesome. Also any recommendations on an amp? I only have my electrostatic thingy. I am using the Topping D50 DAC. thx!!

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better.
