- clearly the cups are not aligned. Can this be adjusted by the screw on the metal earcup holder?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Support request to MD has been sent

P373After further analysis I can confirm the "gimbal" for the right earcup (semi-circle metal bit) has been put on back-to-front. I can find no way of unscrewing the gimbal from the headband (without using a bit of force and potentially damaging the headphone). QC...QC...QC... :o(
If anyone knows how to repair this issue themselves, please let me know and give advice. Otherwise it is an issue for MD and Hifiman to resolve.

LazYevgenI believe that it has more to do with us rotating the cups around during/after use, causing the misalignment. Try rotating the cups around back to their original positions and rotations, you will be able to align them perfectly. I had the same 'problem' and managed to align them back properly.

noobyzerono... rotation is limited... it's not even a rotation but limited swing... Problem clearly is in those metal arcs. They set those in a wrong way... Arc has long and short part. Short goes in front and long goes to back... on my left cap it's ok.. but on my right cap it's vice versa

noobyzeroAfter fiddling around with them all day, I see exactly what you mean.
I happily withdraw my complaint about QC. Appologies to Hifiman and MD for any slur on there quality.
I think I may have a bit too much liquid refreshment over Christmas, leading me to make an error.
Adjusting the gimbal can align the cups correctly.
Sound is up to my expectations. Satisfied customer, especially at price-point.

LazYevgenIf you still have the original box along with the fitting inside, try putting your cans back in. It should align them properly since the fitting was made to fit and hold the cans tightly (little). P373 managed to solve this issue, I believe that you will solve it in no time as well. All the best.
P.S. From your photo, it seems that the gimbals are not really aligned properly. As for the long and short parts in the arc, that is probably just because you were viewing it when the rotations/swings were still misaligned. After adjusting properly, you will see that they are of equal length.

noobyzeroAnother way of showing the alignment is to plug the cables in and flip the cups so they point up. The 2.5mm jacks should be aligned in the same position against the gimbal. The fact that the gimbal twists a few degrees on the horizontal axis means that they can seem unaligned as shown in the photos when the cups are flipped down in normal position. However, they are not - it is just that the gimbal has independant horizontal axis of movement as well that seems to show a false misalignment. You can actually see this if you look how the cups are twisted against the gimbal in the photos.
Hard to explain in text - much easier to show physically with the headphones!
