Hey guys, nice to see the k type on massdrop finally. Will there be some extra key caps included? E.g. Mac, Windows and Linux key? Would be great if I don't have to get a Mac key cap somwhere else to swap out the Win key. Looking forward to it :)

mxsbI'd also like to know this. I would like the option to use a macOS command keycap.
mxsbNo extra keycaps included with this for now.

OverKillWhere would the Mac folks be able to get Mac keys that match the exact style of the rest of the keyboard?
dream3None that I know of. We had a hard enough time trying to find this set of keycaps.

OverKillOK so you guys sourced these keycaps rather than having them made specifically? That's why there's no possibility of extras. http://www.tai-hao.com/catalog/ins.php?index_id=82
That's fair. Disappointing, but fair.

dream3Same place they would get an custom keycaps: an entirely custom set elsewhere.

OverKillThat's a pity. At least the function key would be nice to have matching key caps. I don't know how much is the extra cost for ordering 2k Linux and Mac function keys, but it shouldn't be a significant amount of money.. That are just two additional key caps per keyboard.

gfguthrieIs it that difficult to swap the command and control keys mentally or even remap if necessary? I never bother replacing standard Windows keys when using a Mac or iPad. Think of all the MD members who order blank keysets. A few minor transpositions are nothing compared to those, and even blanks get easier over time if you're a semi-passable touch typist (I shriek from experience (or is that inexperience?)).
gfguthrieWe sourced a core design, then made modifications to that their stock keyset to replace ones that were not appropriate. The more changes we make however, the more expensive the keyset gets, so we did a design freeze several months ago in order to actually launch the drop.

VarholiaglimpAt this point I would pay $20 for a couple of blanks that matched.
I'm trying to come to terms with a project that I've been following since it was announced suddenly not meeting my needs as it is launched & my options being: 1) Spend $200 & ignore the Windows keycaps (which I have done previously) 2) Spend $200 & a bit extra on 1.25 caps that don't match 3) Spend $200 & a lot extra on a new keyset that doesn't handle backlighting as well 4) Save $200

OverKillThat's disappointing. I guess I will have to stay with my KBParadise v60 then since they are the only company I know of that includes options for macOS users. :(

gfguthrieI like everything in your post but the intimation that people who own macs and/or Linux boxes but don't mind Windows keys are "young & ha[ve] no standards." The rest is nicely said.

VarholiaglimpThat's fair - edited so that it's not accusatory towards folks that don't share that viewpoint.
