The day has finally come. At exactly 8pm sharp my time , I literally pulled over to the side of the road, took out my phone with the page of the drop already ready in the browser and hit refresh. Took me a couple of minutes to know that Halo True is the most similar to Topre and the one true switch for me (I'm typing this comment on a Leopold FC660C). I hit joined and when the drop page refreshed there was just under 300 orders so I'm pretty pleased with myself to get the guaranteed serial number. And now 6 hours after the drop went live, we're standing at more than 1100 orders already. Congratulations to Input.Club & Massdrop on a successful drop so far!
P/s: @OverKill how do we visually distinguish between the Halo True & Halo Clear? From the pictures in the force curve pages, they appears to both have a milky white / clear stem and clear housing.
eapdangThanks for your support! So great to hear that :) There is nothing visually different about the two types of switches. The only difference between the two are the springs inside.
OverKillSo the stems are identical too (edit: between the Halo True and Halo Clear) and the differences in the force graphs are solely governed by the spring???
I hope you say they are the same because that would actually make my decision a whole lot easier. (Until I start overthinking some other aspect).
eapdangThanks! I find it fascinating that the spring length and weight could change the graph that much. It's good to know though. I am certain that the Halo Clear's spring would be too stiff for me and I would have changed them out anyway, so giving the Halo True a whirl sounds like a much better plan in my case. If I don't like them it won't be any different than changing the springs out on the clears.
