CyphreThe side glow are as far as I have seen a separate LED array around the pcb which shines directly out of the translucent plastic layer on the side. Those LEDs are configurable to shine with different colors than the keys above. There is no need for the pcb to reflect light. It isnt even visible from the outside unless you decide to swap the whole aluminum casing with something translucent.
