How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?
I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".

I wanted to give a quick update to everyone. We’re extending this drop to the 28th of June to give more people a chance to join this drop. All orders will still be a part of the first production run and will be serialized. This extension won’t have an impact on the shipping time.
Edit: phrasing
Just wanting some clarification here because this is the FIRST Group Buy I have been in, that is still going but shall already collect my money up first, without first notifying me about this situation.
If you bothered to apply the 29 day extension in the beginning, then we all would be better for it instead of this slight of hand gimmick. You have certainly taken away my respect for you MassDrop in playing this type of game onto people who believed this deal was going to happen straight away.
Hope this helps.
Would of collected more orders plus given people more time to save up for this unique keyboard.
Don't do this EVER again MassDrop.
If THEY (MassDrop) bothered to clearly say that the K-Type keyboard was on a 29 day Group Buy offer then I would of bought much more GMK Yuri's.
This error on MassDrop's part will not be forgiven by me anytime soon, they will feel my wraith from now on within this section, so they never do this type of idiotic deal again.
Just what I heard, but that's only for those that want to be the very first buyers of this product.
1. The original drop was scheduled as it was so that we can lock up a slot in the production line. Otherwise, the November ship date would be not possible. 2. We received new samples recently which have shown greater progression and we will be taking new pictures and sharing with everyone. This allows us to let the community add more orders without impacting the ship date. 3. There was a lot of communication from the community wanting an extension for this drop.
I hope this helps clarify the situation. I am also seeing what I can do for everyone who had to cancel their Yuri orders or make a sacrifice. Maybe, I can pull something off, but you will have to give me till tomorrow morning to get back to you.
You might be angry about having to miss those keycaps, but someone else might be thrilled they can suddenly afford this board.
Now I only wish You would do another GMK Yuri Group Buy on a 29 day extension so that I may buy MORE of them, you really didn't help promote the purchase of Yuri at all by also offering the K-Type at the same time period.
So please kunal, make this right, go for a 29 day group buy on the Yuri key-set........please, please and another please on top.
When it comes to keycap sets, we have a strict schedule because the whole year has already been allocated to different sets that the community has been asking for. Hence, it becomes difficult for us to extend them as we would like to give every keycap set its time in the limelight.
What I am trying to do is add or include community members into the drop that had to let go of the Yuri. This requires me to coordinate internally and as soon as I have an understanding, I will let you know.
Any way for you guys to charge me now so it doesn't get declined again?
Just feel sorry for those that missed out here because it won't be offered any time soon here on MD.
There is no wrong with an extension sunshine, it just should be leveled at other Group Buys here making it more "Fair" and "Just", if that is what MassDrop wants to pursue.
If the K-Type was offered with a 29 day extension then it should of been highlighted earlier instead of after the deadline has passed. Would of meant dropping the K-Type order now and picking up MORE GMK Yuri's instead.
In the future, I do think this kind of process needs to be better clarified on the drop page itself (e.g. giving the second drop a different title, adding bold text in the item description, and/or resetting the purchase counter). Otherwise, it creates unnecessary confusion and frustration... especially when we're talking about getting 2,500 keyboards manufactured between now and, well, the future.
Can you elaborate on this, as unless something in the producton isn't final i can't see how adding roughly a month of extra orders wouldn't impact the shipping date. as fewer items would be shipping faster, so is the original drop going to ship before this, or are you refering to the estimated shipping date? As you just eluded to production being faster than expected.
Also I don't even use the 2-3 boards I have. It's hard for me to justify a purchase when it's only "I want to have it just to have it"
I think it's great that Massdrop is allowing more people to join the drop. Thumbs up for that. Meanwhile people who already joined & paid get the same shipping date. Both thumbs way up.
But I would have to agree it's unfortunate that Massdrop uses the sense of urgency from the drop deadline to generate impulse/panic sales, and then restarts the deadline-urgency cycle to do it all over again. I wouldn't say it's wrong or unethical, but I would say it doesn't really fit. If this becomes a regular pattern, maybe just remove the deadline altogether.
In terms of shipping dates, they are calculated in conjunction with the factories, taking into consideration the production timelines. There is an upper bound on the number of units that can be produced but a production spot needs to locked in so that the factories can start the process. However, adding orders afterwards (as long as they are below the cap) is ok by these factories.
I hope this clarifies the process more.
I think the core of the issue stems from community members having to choose between the Yuri and the K-Type and I will see what I can get for everyone involved.
If anyone feels that they would like to join the Yuri drop or edit their existing Yuri order over the K-Type please send me an email to kunal+ktype@massdrop.com by June 1st, 11:59pm PT. I will collect all the orders and will work with the teams here to get them sorted out. Please note that this is a one time exception for community members here.
Also, we discussed the scenario that took place here and we will be working on a process that would allow for greater clarity to the community about the launch, close, and relaunch of a drop along with the payment collection procedure. We'll try to have this completed as soon as possible and communicated in the upcoming drops, where it is applicable.
Thank you for providing us with all the feedback. We appreciate it!

edit: date and time deadline.
Shall be buying the K-Type next week so everything has worked out here quite easily ; )
i just need a button to sort for latest comment. That would be a lifesaver.
But wow, rest in peace K-Type Kickstarter, there goes the only real reason to back it.
They just guaranteed the first people who placed an order that they'd get a lower number.
