Hey everybody,
Looking at grabbing one of these, but currently use a Razer Blackwidow with "clicky" keys. I really like this style of key, along with cherry mx Blues. Could you all recommend which switch available on here would be closest?
Also, I'm curious about Reds because I almost exclusively game on my board at home, would the Reds available here be the same style as the typical "gaming" cherry MX reds?
Thanks for any help.

falcons1112If you want clicky go with the Kaihua blues. Color will tend to indicate the same type and behavior of switches even across manufactures.
falcons1112You may also want to consider the Speed Gold switch. It is like a Blue switch but has shorter distance to actuation as well as a shorter over travel. I personally don't buy the speed hype, but I have used MX Speed Silvers and ordered my K-Type with Kaihua Speed Silvers. I like the feel of them.

falcons1112Go for clicky even if you're going to be "gaming". I use a Pok3r with cherry mx greens. I've never regretted playing games with these switches, on the contrary it feels bad to use any other switch anymore. Comfort is more important here, so try not to fall for the meme about switches being better for typing or gaming or whatever else.

falcons1112IMHO Pandastotle can not be beat. Unfortunately you cannot buy them. You have to buy Panda switches and Aristotle switches open them both up and put the stems from the Aristotle in the Panda. If you also want the LEDs to work you can make Gatastotles but they are not as crisp as Pandastotle. I use to be a Cherry lover till I actually tried out a bunch of different switches which is really your best option. Find an online store that sells samples (there are plenty and I wont plug any one place as most all of them are good reputable people) and buy whatever sample sets they have, put some keycaps on the switches and mix them up in a box and try them out blind to see what feels best. After a while you will start to find that custom switches have even more to offer and building custom switches like the Pandastotle and lubing your switches makes drastic difference in the way you type.

falcons1112I just received a bunch of Kaihua Gold switches the other day from a group buy, I like them much more than MX Blues… they have a more focused overall feel, the click happens sooner, and nice sound/feel.
