wwviergI don't own these Schitt devices, but I think I can answer your question by looking at the available connections. The Schiit Bifrost is a DAC, with RCA analog audio (line level) outputs. The Schiit Asgard 2 is a headphone amp, with RCA analog inputs, a headphone output, and RCA analog audio (line level) outputs. That means you have the choice of 1) Connecting the RCA analog audio outputs from the Bifrost DAC directly to the powered speakers, or 2) if you really want to use the Asgard 2 alongside the speakers, you could connect the Bifrost DAC outputs to the Asgard 2 inputs as you're probably doing now, and connect the Asgard 2's RCA analog audio outputs to the powered speakers' inputs. The JBL LSR305 only has balanced inputs (RCA connections are *unbalanced*) but you can get cables that connect RCA unbalanced to unbalanced 1/4" phone plugs. When you plug that into the balanced 1/4" phone jack on the LSR305, it will ground the negative-going side of the signal ('unbalance' it) and it'll work. Here's a picture of the back panel of the LSR305: http://noaudiophile.com/JBL_LSR308/JBL_LSR308_Back_Panel.jpg I hope that helps...

wwviergRun the output from your Bifrost straight to the inputs on the speakers. There is an amplifier built into the speaker housing on these.
If you still want to use the headphone amp on the Asgard, you can split the signal and send it to both.

Heeftythanks for ther reply. as i just replied to rongon, i have a spliiter right now but it's one that end's in a single 1/4" plug as there's only one needed to connect to my Klipsch Preo Media 2.1. i may just stay w/ what i have right now. But i also have a Mac Mini here at the office (so i can test out PC based Excel macros for some clients who only run macs) that has nothing sound-wise. wouldn't need headphones on that ... decision time. again - thanks for the reply
