I own the Klipsch RP-160M. Anybody know how this compares? Is it worth getting this? Thanks in advance for any help!
koushikPlease be aware, these Massdrop x JBL LSR30X powered speakers will not produce sub-bass. For a complete-sounding system, you will have to use them in conjunction with a subwoofer. The JBL LSR310S is the subwoofer of the LSR line. Its retail price is $399.99 but like-new/refurbished units can be found for as little as $305.
With the (passive) Klipsch speakers you have, it will be far easier to integrate any powered subwoofer using any home theater reciever (or any amplifier with a subwoofer-out with a fixed crosssover).
May I ask, what amplifier are you using with your Klipsch speakers? Are you satisfied with their sound?

mattrisI can still use this bookshelf speaker without amp or subwoofer right? I'm planning to join the drop, but I'm not sure if I can make full use of it because I want to connect to my laptop, since I don't own monitor or TV. Much appreciated!

Joeliu0709You can connect your powered monitors using their provided 3.5mm TRS to dual ¼-inch TS cable directly from your PC line-out port or if you don't have one, the headphone port. Keep in mind that those are monitors as opposed to bookshelf speakers, the former is used for critical listening while the latter is for casual music listening. But no one said you can't use them for both.
