Thinking about buying these. I'll be hooking this up to my computer which only has on-board sound. It does have optical and the normal 2.5mm input. What do I need to drive these?

rah350zGood, if you have an optical connection because you will then need to buy an External DAC with an optical input connection from your PC.
Then from your new DAC have at least TWO connections available TRS or XLR. I am using the XLR connections mainly due to their size and ease of connecting (old large hands here) and it's been superb.
Any Movie sounds far better through these speakers, it can shake the floors and walls when turned up. I am only using the two speakers with no external Bass Box (Sub-Woofer) connected and to me, it's been fine for any audio delivery.

ElrickThanks for the info. Would you have any recommendations for a DAC? preferably something I could use with headphones as well as soon as I decide to buy one. Looking at the Fostex THX00

rah350zI have been using this, bought off Ebay some months ago;

They are now actually selling my old returned unit so you can pick this up far cheaper than what I paid for it.

ElrickLast question, is this product for 2 speakers? I noticed the LS305s on Amazon were only 149$, but I think that one is only for 1 speaker.
