Thinking about using these for my home theater system. If any one is currently using these i would love to hear some feedback and some tips on setting it up! Thanks!

dchiaThey should perform well in a typical small home theater system, but there a few things to keep in mind...
1) They are rear ported and have no threaded wall mount point. This means that they really need to be 1 - 2 ft from the wall that's behind them and placed on stands rather than wall mounted or on a bookshelf. It also means that you might end up spending as much on cables and stands as you do on the speakers! Finally, most rooms can't support these for Atmos height channels.
2) Each speaker requires a power cord and a wall outlet. You could end up with a lot of power cords in a 7.1 or larger system!
3) The LSR30X has a fully differential XLR input which means you can just run what is essentially an XLR microphone cable from your home theater pre/pro (eg., Emotiva XMC-1, Marantz AV7704, or Yamaha CX-A5100) to each speaker. No need to purchase channels of amplification for these and this type of cable is subject to less interference and loss than similar lengths of speaker cable. Downside is that they can't be connected to receivers that have only speaker terminal outputs. The LSR30X must be driven from preamp outputs...ideally with XLR jacks and differential signaling (see examples above).
4) If you have a large room (bigger than 16ft x 26 ft), the LSR30X may not be suitable for the L/C/R front channels. They will play loud, but perhaps not at reference levels in a big space. The LSR308 is a better choice.
Hope this helps.
