My partner and I have been using a 2p quilt for the last 3 years. We normally use a fitted sheet to hold our pads together but due to nocturnal migration, one of us inevitably wakes up in the middle crack. I got an un-insulated, single valve, demo pad from Massdrop a couple weeks ago. The pad took approximately 2 minutes to manually inflate without too much effort. My partner and I slept on the pad 3 nights in a row and I have used it solo a handful of times since. I'm pretty stoked on this pad. I will use this (uninsulated) pad for warm weather and Ill buy an insulated pad for winter. Honestly, we didn't really notice the taper. We're both side sleepers but neither one of us felt cramped even when we were both on our backs. Also the pad was super plush with a 3-inch loft so I can only imagine the new 3.2-inch pad be even nicer. I've always been a little worried about the static-v design cause I thought my hip would bottom out in one of the Vs but we had no such problem. My only complaint was not being about to get ALL the air out of the single valve but I can see they added two quick release valves so that's solved. Our normal two pad set up weighs in at 44oz so 35oz is a HUGE will be weight drop for us. Since when do luxury items reduce your base weight?
