So I'm definitely interested. I do have some reservations about it being a collaborative effort. Are we to expect the energizer to contain more "cost effective" low quality parts in it, as compared to the original? Are the headphones themselves the same size as the old ones- IE can I use standard replacement pairs? I'm curious about the QandA with the founder's son- how will that work?
WallofhooliganismHey @Wallofhooliganism, thanks for your questions.
"Are we to expect the energizer to contain more "cost effective" low quality parts in it, as compared to the original? "
Nope, the energizer has not been altered from it's original design beyond the cosmetics. We came into this collaboration with some ideas to further tune the system via the energizer, but by staying with Koss' design and supply chain we would maintain the Made in The USA history of the ESP line and Koss' brand identity.
"Are the headphones themselves the same size as the old ones- IE can I use standard replacement pairs? "
Yes.
" I'm curious about the QandA with the founder's son- how will that work? "
We collect questions from the community, share them with Koss, and share the response. Sometimes there are video responses, most of the time it's text responses, it's up to our partners to decide how they engage.
WillThanks for answering! That's good to know, but I'm curious- how did your further tune them? What changes were made other than a switch of the pads? Also, the battery pack and leather bag are not included here (which is fine for me) but I want to know, would the original battery pack work on the massdrop adapter? What about the warranty? Does it require us to go through massdrop to have our item serviced, or would we just contact good ol' Koss support?
