Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

BTW - What is that screw thing that's on one side?
As for the screw, there is actually a fairly rare headset version of the PortaPro called the 'speak easy', which has a small boom microphone that's mounted where that screw is, only seems to be available in really obscure places like sweden, czech republic and austria, no idea why.

And the screw is only fixed to the left. Possibly for that boom mike.
Sound: Great, overall the response range is average and the clarity won't be washed out by the budget laid onto the development. Bass is "Koss" like and the wearing comfort is, 8/10. Wearing it over 3 hours will take a toll on your ears. There's no need for an AMP but if you do have it, pair this beauty up and it won't be disappointing :).
Build: Well made plastic construction ensures it's ability to survive at least, a very densely packed backpack. Over that, I have no idea but it won't last long if you've seat or let it grind through your bag's flooding goods. Dropped it several times and most of the time, the frame took the impact so minimum damage taken to the drivers. Cable's very thin, but it should ensures a 3 year's worth of normal usage, as in listening it and not bringing it around often.
To sum it up, if you are not an audiophile and you have the budget of a poor man, Koss Porta is for you. If you are an audiophile and you are looking for an lightweight, great-sounding and not a Grado, this is also for you :D. Rival: Sennheiser PX-100.
