Wow, as a European I was amazed seeing these here. The headphones are great sounding ones, but quality is crap. I have returned several KOSS headphones and while the Lifetime guarantee is working, being without them for a few weeks at a time got bothersome. Here, I can locally walk into most superstores and pick one up for roughly an equivilant of 10-20$ and sometimes more or less. The special editions could be trickier to find though but still.. Costly thing for something I'm used seeing tonnes of in bargain bins.
Still, a good sound, but quality, nah.

F00lw0lfThe SportaPro is nearly identical, at a fraction of the cost (and feels a bit sturdier). I keep mine in a tiny hard case, and take them everywhere. They're my favorite "I'm not super concerned what happens to these" headphones for general use. I get to leave the expensive stuff at home now.

F00lw0lfIf you can break Porta Pros, you are doing something wrong. I buy these for our university library and I have sets that have circulated thousands of times over a decade and have only had one pair break, that was the clip that holds the ear pad in.

dgb100Well, you are either very lucky, or I and thousands very missfortunate. Google the KOSS Porta Pro and you'll see that many ahve had these issue and it is not by any means handling them uncareful. I never had them lose in a bag or anything suc, simply on my head, folded them and unfolded them to listen to Music and the plastic is very brittle and breaks. Had them repaired and the Life long garantee is nice, but seems it is needed. A forum pal here in Sweden told of sending his in for the fifth time. (He had two, so he didn't have to be without when one pair broke. Sound is great and he loves his still. For me, they break too easily and I was looking for a portable headphone.

F00lw0lfChecked some reviews, sounds like manufacturing may have changed as a few have noted that the newer phones break easily. Most of the mine are 5+ years old, although I did recently buy more, but have not put them into circulation yet. I'll mark them and see how they stand up.

dgb100I can confirm that the porta pro's quality is absolute garbage now. I'm not sure what they were like a few years ago, but I bought some to use for watching TV late at night, and within a week they were broken. I sent them back, got a new pair, and the new pair lasted 3 days. I didn't bother sending them back again. They're absolute crap (not to mention uncomfortable). How these made the cut at massdrop is mind boggling.
