Has anyone compared the massdrop porta pro to the standard version for sound quality? Reason i ask is i bought the mass drop ksc75x headphones and then bought a pair off amazon to compare and they were diffrent. The massdrop version had better bass extension and was cleaner and more controlled over all compared to the standard. The standard koss version also had some slight distortion issues in the upper high region.

LuckyEightsMy experience with MD / Koss collaborations is that other than the colorway or perhaps a cable with a remote/mic, they sound the same as the Koss versions. If anything, you may have received a fake pair of Koss KSC75 if the seller wasn't Koss. Even with the upcoming ESP/95X the only difference outside of the colorway and included accessories is the pads being used (which will absolutely change the sound). I have the Porta Pro X, the Koss version of the PPX (yes, there is one) and they sound the same. I have all the colors of the KPH30i, the white/blue and the grey/black purchased from Koss and the MD tan/black, and they all sound the same as well. The PPX sound the same as a standard Porta Pro as well (the no mic/remote versions) and even the limited editions with the remote/mic/analog volume (The black/gold and khaki/silver) Yes, I own a lot of Porta Pros. The Bluetooth Porta Pro actually do sound different than the wired versions, but that's the result of the onboard amp.
