I had the opportunity to try these caps a while back and must say that these are AMAZING.
Obviously, the first thing people will want to do is compare them to Signature Plastics SA profile. It makes sense, this is the most common high profile, and the one most people are familiar with.
Major differences first. These are PBT dye sub caps only for now (as opposed to double shot ABS like the majority of SA caps). Naturally this limits colors (until reverse dye sub is perfected), but also allows for custom legends/novelties/languages/etc at no additional cost. Pretty standard pros/cons of ABS doubleshot vs PBT dye sub honestly.
Feeling wise is definitely where these guys shine. I love SA caps, mainly because they look SO good in pictures, but honestly they are pretty mediocre to type on at times. The lack of any real spherical top really makes the profile a little lacking in my opinion. These caps are different, for the better. They are more spherical and slightly more angular (think Realforce HiPro caps), but the edges are not as sharp as the Topre caps. This is definitely a profile made for typing, and it will definitely be my favorite high profile for boards I do a lot of writing on.
Will this be an SA killer? Nope. They both still have their place. Is this a fantastic feeling profile and much welcomed addition to the available profiles for enthusiasts? Hell yes.

livingspeedbumpHopefully midterm it will light a fire under GMKs and SPs arses. Their prices and timetables are not serious.

livingspeedbumpThanks for sharing hands on feedback, really helpful. Shape changes definitely seem to make sense.  Comparison to Realforce HiPro is very helpful with bulls eye point about cupping.  I think a lot of people found SA profile little awkward here and there, but didn't really look into it believing it's adoption friction.  Then the keyset goes into closet and the awkwardness is forgotten. PBT change makes sense as well, but it comes with some concerns like quality and impact on high profile feel. Can you share more on those aspects?  Did you get to see any dye-subed samples?  PBT doesn't dull the high profile feeling?

dsafGMK timing/price is just fine. Amazing quality and profile. SP has good prices, especially with MD but their timetable is pretty fucked right now.

OracleKevI only saw blanks, so I can't comment on the dye sub legends. And no, PBT doesn't affect the feeling in a negative way at all. Remember, some great older caps (looking at Model F/M) were PBT and felt great. I believe the ones I tried were printed as well.
I also can't really comment on quality. The samples were stellar, but with a huge production run it is hard to say with any new product how they will turn out. I know Matt3o has extremely high standards, and I know the MD guys are doing everything possible to make sure this comes out fantastic right out of the gate.

livingspeedbumpThanks for weighing in here. Can you comment on how wobbly these are in comparison to SA caps? This seems to be a common complaint of the SA profile.
Thanks again @livingspeedbump

RominroninI'd be curious to know as well; I figured the "wobble" in my Pulse set is just inherent in the switch, amplified by the height of the keys.

dsafSP is employee owned if I remember correctly. Means that they likely won't change their business model ever. They run at full capacity now and are (likely very) profitable. Expanding the business would require additional employees which further dilutes the compensation.
With no single person owner, there is no drive to be larger and more profitable as there is no single person who gains (& gets rich). It really just adds risk.
As long as there are enough people out there who want SA I don't think SP will be changing their pricing or their availability

RominroninWobble is solely based on the switch, not the cap (unless a stem is loose). So I can't really say here. Height can make wobble seem more significant though on some switches.
