Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. Because each row has a unique keycap shape, alt layouts require a unique keycap for each legend that moves off its QWERTY row. For your Masterkeys S, you'd only need two kits: Base kit and a modifiers kit in one of those two options
Base Kit: No, thanks. Child Kit: CMY Kit
subtotal should be $126.97
A cheaper option is Anne Pro, while it has bluetooth I think I've seen people mention a slight input latency and the battery doesn't sound amazing but I'm still tempted because I'd use it plugged in. Not much switch variety but I prefer linears for playing most games.

http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/mechanical-keyboard/wasd-p3-61-key-barebones-mechanical-keyboard.html This is where I got my Poker3 because after RGB came out, I couldn't find one with MX clears that wasn't expensive to ship and preferred no backlighting which means the plate is black. There is an LED under the spacebar but it's only on for programmable layers and programming so I use the default layer with capslock set to Fn, arrows are IJKL.
You'd want this version, switches up to you obviously: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1236

The RGB has MX silver speed which might be nice for games, I have a Coolermaster QFR-i TKL with MX reds but they're kinda scratchy, that's why I was tempted to try Gateron reds on the Anne Pro.
