How will these compare to the Shure 215s?
chazjonesI've got a pair of 215's that are a few years old, and they're now showing issues with one earpiece dropping out intermittently. I thought it might be a cable problem, I replaced the original remote cable with an Ultimate Ears UE900 cable about a year after I bought them, because the outer covering split just about everywhere, then one side kept going quiet, so I bought yet another UE900 cable, and it turns out its the earpiece! By this time I've already doubled the original cost of the SE's in cables, so I bought a pair of P1's, and I have to say they're outstanding, the cables are a twisted pair, like the UE ones, and the sound quality is just superb; I'm using the Lightning adapter with my iPhone 6+ and the Onkyo HT player app, and they're as good, if not better than the UE TripleFi 10 Studio IEM's I have, which are a $300 or thereabouts IEM. I use triple-flange eartips on my P1's, and the detail, depth and musicality are about as good as anyone could possibly want, in my humble opinion, and forty-fifty years of listening to music and gig-going experience. I'm so impressed with them I'll happily buy another pair from this drop, as a backup/spare/travel pair. i love'em to bits, I keep hearing things I've not noticed before in songs I've heard many times, and before anyone says anything, no, I'm not affiliated in any way with MeeAudio, I just like their products, although I did have an ema conversation with Mike, the man behind Mee about the possibility of a cable with a Lightning connector, the answer to which was no, not at the moment anyway.

Phasmainmachinahow do they compare in bass?
t-coroI'd say the bass is better, it's not overwhelming, it's tuneful and goes very deep, but then I lis to a very wide range of music, from acoustic folk, through heavy rock, Indie, classical, some electro/dance, and the bass seems ideally balanced to cope with all of those, probably not far off the 215's, but with better detail and a bit more depth and control. Considering the P1's are a single driver, they compare very well with my UE TripleFi 10's, they're certainly a lot more comfortable and a bargain at this price, it has got to be down to how the interior of the case has been designed, to produce this sort of sound quality, certainly since I've had the P1's I haven't bothered using either my UE TripleFi 10's or my older SuperFi 5's, the P1's have all the advantages of a better, more comfortable design for long periods of wear, and they compare very, very favourably sound-wise; just no contest, really, I bought the TripleFi's second-hand, they're a $350 pair of 'phones, IIRC, and I paid almost as much as I paid for the P1's, and the P1's are my preferred 'phones now.
