Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. The PX also requires quite a bit more power and really need to be amped where as the 215's do not. The 215's will play on anything and get very loud. I have to max my player un-amped for the PX to get where I like it and I still feel like that's not enough to really wake it up.
Beyond that, the PX has a wider soundstage and is able to pick up more details in the music. However, the 215 is plainly just a lot more fun. I use the PX more for blues/acoustic/soul/bluegrass/folk and the 215 for hip-hop/RnB/pop/EDM/trap. The bass of the 215 really adds a feeling to music that the PX lacks but the PX brings out more details and imaging. I enjoy both since I listen to all genres and just keep them on rotation depending on my playlist for the day.
