Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Also, I wouldn't call the treble "severely" rolled-off either. These actually peak at 4k hz before starting to slope downward at 5k+ hz. That covers pretty much the frequency range ofr any instrument and voices. Truthfully, harmonics will be the aspect most affected. I surmise these will have a more smooth, even-keeled mid and high treble and may lack "sparkle" or "fizz" but I don't think this will be a negative. They won't be fatiguing in the slightest. No crazy peaks and smooth transitions. I think these will sound far from "awkward" and will be a great compliment to MEE's current offerings with the P1 and P2. Looking at the charts, these seem to cover the areas the P1 doesn't. This reminds me of the synergy between the Campfire Andromeda and Vega/Atlas.
