I just received my top (and one for my husband) today, so I have 2 to compare. First, I like the little spin station included in the box, and the box itself is really nice. It is a perfect fit for the top and glass. I also love the grip on the stem. It's easy to hold and launch. Now for what I don't like - As everyone else has commented, ours were tarnished and most definitely *not* what I have come to expect appearance-wise out of a brand new top. Mine takes a long while to settle, and when it almost does it then develops a terrible death-flutter the likes of which I have never seen in any of the tops I own. I keep expecting it to fall over due to the violent motion, but it keeps on (for a while) never achieving the upright and smooth top nirvana. My husband's top spins a little better with somewhat less wobble/flutter and for a little longer spin time, but it was much more tarnished than mine out of the box. I polished them both up using a Sunshine Cloth and that seems to have taken care of it, although ours were not quite as tarnished as the ones in the pics. I have spun mine on the glass that came with it, on a cheap Walmart make-up mirror, and on my spin station with a 5 inch Andre lens, and the results are all similar. (Although for me the bigger the surface the better the spin considering the concave surface of the glass in relation to the low skirt of the top. There is probably an official way to describe this, but I don't know it) I believe that Mitch's design is solid, but the quality control department was totally out to lunch when these were made. Overall this was a disappointment especially given that it took over 3 months from ordering it to receiving it, but that was not Mitch's fault. I believe it was the contract manufacturer that dropped the ball on this top.
