Do I Need to Lube My Keyboard Switches?
Figure 1: Sometime around here is a good time to ask that question... If you’re new to the mechanical keyboard hobby, I have no doubt that planning your first keyboard build is a bit of a daunting task. To be entirely honest with you, it’s only a tiny bit less daunting for your second or even third keyboard builds should you stay around a little while longer. You’ve got the keyboard itself to worry about, stabilizers, keycaps, and even switches on top of all of the intangible marks you want your dream keyboard to hit. Switches are especially daunting right out of the gate as there’s just so many options out there to pick from – each with their own unique specifications, manufacturers, and more. Yet, in spite of all of these differences between switches, time and time again I find people always asking about lubing switches as one of their chief concerns when it comes to picking some up. With countless numbers of content creators talking about lubing switches, its no...

Today I’m happy to officially announce the release of an all new keycap set project that I’ve been working on recently, conceived to rethink some rules and expand new routes that I felt were unexplored in our community - until now.
As you can see we have tons of different kits designed to cover practically any MX stem mechanical keyboard.
What kits are you most interested in, would you like to request additions or changes?
I'm also debuting my brand new journal log today.
In case you wanna read my insights and discover a bit more about Canvas and other projects, feel invited to visit it!

Let me know, I'm always here!
As for the kits, I would probably go Alpha, Icon Modifier, and Numpad. Maybe include the Tsangan Icons if I wanted to support my RS96 coming in March (which will actually be used with your Godspeed caps <3)
Yes, we are debuting this profile on Massdrop and to get things started we are doing XDA for this design. XDA is a taller and more pronounced version of the DSA profile, something like a hybrid between SA row 3 and proper DSA.
Those kits should be enough for the RS96, thanks a lot for the Godspeed support, it should be there with you soon.
Let me know if you require further assistance!
yellow looks amazing in the render. Any chance of somehow working it into more than just 1 kit? Maybe an alternative color mod pack with a yellow instead of red or green??
The best thing about the MC rebirth imo, was the 5 sided reverse due sub for the modifiers that give the look of double shot at a much more affordable price
I'm planning to pick up the base set with icon modifiers. Just have to plan a build around it now :)
Will any of your past work make a comeback?
As for this particular set, I prefer the icon mods over the text mods, because some of the text mods look a little crowded -- it must be the effect of having horizontally slim typography, however. Are the icon mods for 'code' and 'hack' supposed to be identical? That's a pretty Dieter Rams kit! I wonder if it had any particular significance however, such as why you chose certain positions over others for each rune.
That's something pretty doable, who else second this?
That's a very interesting suggestion indeed, while for this drop we won't be offering bundles like you suggested I am definitely going to create a "bundle list" on our website - https://mitormk.wordpress.com
I'll be explaining the child kits over there soon, so stay tuned!
Yes, Pulse, Godspeed and the gaming sets will definitely make a comeback and reboot in other profile as well such as GMK.
The icons for Code and Hack are slightly different. Hack has a little start while Code has a little circular dot, does that make sense?
As for the runic kit, those positions were not arbitrary and their correspondence reflects the original Elder Futhark layout/language. We went with the original design!
I just noticed the differences between code and hack as you mentioned, but it appears like the renders in the Tsangan Kit (first row), Bauhaus color icon mods (top row, second to last row) are incorrect then.
Just so you know, Godspeed and PuLSE are my all-time favorite sets! I just wanted you to know that. Unfortunately, I joined the MK community this past month so both are out of my reach. (I did get DSA Overcast :D though, without Watchers :( )I also cannot afford after-market prices (e.g. reddit). I look forward to their comeback in both SA and in any other profile. I'll be signing up for them. Please, please keep me updated!
Thanks for clarifying on the runic kit. Looks like I'm something new everyday.
For the K70 you'll need:
Alphas + Modifiers (Text or Icon) + Tsangan (Text or Icon) + Calculator + Space bars (you need a 6.5u one).
Does that make sense?
Thanks a lot for the interest and I really appreciate your support!
Can we expect an easy to assemble kit for the Magicforce 68? Will the kit cost... a lot?
Let me know if you need more help.
Edit: I guess I would need: Mono Kit Basic Icon Mods Bauhaus Icon Mods Deiter Rams Space Bars
Am I missing anything? It'd be awesome if the gray Backspace was included in the Mono Kit so you wouldn't have to buy the Alpha Kit as well just for that one key. But I guess a blank from the Blanks Kit could replace it. Damn thats a lot of kits to buy :-/
This will probably be the only keycap set I buy all year.
